with a four piece bathroom, ('ensuite'), are upstairs. One bedroom contains
a Queen sized bed, the other twin beds and a double futon/couch. The facility
can sleep a maximum of six. Although not wheelchair accessible, the stairs
leading to the second floor have hand rails on each side and are accessible
for people with some ambulatory difficulties. All bed linens and towels are

Besides the kitchen, the main floor has a large sitting room that is excellent
for relaxing, reading or watching Satellite T.V., (Star Choice). A computer

as is high speed wireless connectivity for those bringing their own laptops!
Free long distance telephone service to the US and Canada makes it easy to
keep in touch with friends and family back home!
Our property is
an excellent location to come and go as one pleases, accessing the numerous
beaches and whale excursions along the Gulf Coast, kayaking, day tripping
to hiking trails locally and in the Highlands, visiting the Alexander Graham
Bell Museum in Baddeck or the Highland Village in Iona as well as the Puffin
Tours out of Englishtown or Seal Island or the “Fab 4 Golf Courses’!
Of course, there is still the mandatory circumnavigation of the Trail, (which
can take one or several days). Even Fortress Louisburg can be visited on a
scenic day trip.
A wonderful resource for the traveller is to obtain a free copy of Doers
and Dreamers, Nova Scotia's Travel Guide, which may be obtained by
surfing to http://www.novascotia.com
and checking the link. In North America one can also obtain by calling 1-800-565-0000.
Ask for extra information on Cape Breton Island
when you do so!
For those planning summer travel, please be aware that there is a lot to do
and see on Cape Breton. We have only highlighted a few of the numerous attractions.
The biggest complaint guests make is that they left too little time to really
see what is available! Roads are twisty with a view around every turn, hiking
trails abound, waterfalls call, beaches, fresh water and ocean, beckon. And
one does get lost in the Margarees!
For more information, check out

especially THINGS TO DO, ARTS & CRAFTS, PICTURE GALLERY
and so on!
And remember, music, particularly Celtic Style music, is very much a part
of Cape Breton culture, especially here in Inverness County. Indeed, during
the summer, there is a music venue somewhere in the County virtually every
day, be it a Ceilidh, dance or concert! However, in my opinion, the Three
Fiddlers Ceilidh at the Barn is a must see! It is on Friday nights in June,
September and October and Wednesday nights in July and August. Should you
only be able to spend one night in Margaree area, make it a night when you
can get to the Ceilidh! Check out the article on the "Magic of the
Margarees" by clicking on the "Paradise Lost"
article shown on the Macleans Icon on the THINGS TO DO section of the margareens
web page.
Although our
Guest House is well suited for families or two couples travelling together,
when available we do offer one bedroom rental with the kitchen being shared.
Please note, we have a two day minimum policy for booking.
